Youth Club
The Indiana American Saddlebred Horse Association is delighted to announce the IASHA Youth Club! When you become a member of the IASHA Youth Club, you join a community of young riders (ages 6-18) from all across the state of Indiana. We offer monthly meetings, fun educational activities, how-to workshops, guest speakers, field trips, and more! Form partnerships and lasting bonds among peers and learn more about the American Saddlebred!
Academy and performance riders are welcome to join. If you’d like to learn more, visit our first call meeting on May 14th, 2022 at the Johnson County White River Branch Public Library (1664 Library Blvd, Greenwood, IN 46142) from 1-3PM. We’re so excited to meet you!

What are the benefits of joining the IASHA Youth Club?
When a rider joins the IASHA Youth Club, they join a community of riders from barns across the state of Indiana. They will be able to make friends and have fun, all while learning more about the horses they already know and love.
Where are the meetings held?
Monthly meetings will be held in a neutral location in central Indiana (e.g. local libraries, community centers, etc.). Meeting duration will be approximately an hour to an hour and a half. Snacks and drinks will be provided at no cost to members. Dates and locations for meetings will be posted shortly, so stay tuned!
Who are the Youth Club leaders?
Sarah Highsmith and Janice Miller are passionate equestrians with hearts for promoting and continuing the success of young riders through youth outreach and community engagement. Sarah, owner and head trainer of Highsmith Farm, has a long track record of leading riders to rewarding show careers, both in Academy and performance divisions. She has served on the IASHA board for many years and has a vested interest in cultivating enthusiasm for Saddlebreds. Janice is an instructor at Highsmith Farm and has been riding Saddle Seat for nearly 20 years. She began teaching riding lessons full time in 2020, when she transitioned her teaching career out of the classroom and into the arena.
